Giving Back

It’s football Monday!!

Today I thought I’d talk about one of the awesome parts of C’s job…which is all of the charity events he gets to take part of and the appearances he gets to do.

On the charity side, once or twice a week he gets to go hang out at the Boys and Girls Club, visit sick children at the Ronald McDonald House or the Phoenix Children’s Hospital or some other equally rewarding thing. I don’t usually get to go to these events because they are during the day, but it is so awesome to see the pictures of the smiles on these precious children when he is hanging out with them.

It really takes a special person to be able to go into these facilities.  I ‘m going to be honest, I don’t know if I would be able to visit children in hospice.  But C is so wonderful at it.  He was born to be strong for these kids and help put a smile on their face. *Gushy moment warning*…. it totally makes me fall more in love with him when I see him do these events.

Not a great pic....but this was a pizza eating contest!
Some of the charity events that I get to take part in with him are a lot of the fundraising races in the fall and spring.  Last year we went to the Hope Kids Race and got to stand at the finish line and pass out medals to everyone that completed the race (including the kids in their strollers, wagons or wheel chairs).  It was awesome to see how proud these children were once they crossed the finish line!
At the Hope Kids Race

Along with charity events, he also gets to do some other cool appearances!  He’s done events for all of the local sports teams (Arizona Cardinals - NFL, Arizona Diamondbacks – MLB, Phoenix Suns – NBA and Phoenix Mercury – WNBA). Luckily, I’ve gotten to join him at most of those!  He also has done things like the Waste Management Open (a big golf tourney here) and several radio shows.  It’s really a lot of fun!
Mascot for the Phoenix Mercury - big hugs!

Yeah this really happened (at the WM Open...lots of drunk people!)
Overall though, it’s really great to have the opportunity to spend time doing the things you love and for C that is definitely working with children! He just loves it J I’m not going to lie, sometimes I am jealous of this part of his job! I wish I could spend more time doing the charitable work!

Currently

Hello my loves and happy Friday!
I felt like today I’d do a post about a bunch of random things going on in my life.
Such as this:
Do you know who that is?  Yeah….I didn’t really either, even though I’ve seen the movies!  His name is Booboo Stewart and he plays a werewolf (Seth Clearwater – who is in Jacob’s “pack”) in the Twilight movies!  I thought that was pretty fun.  It’s quite interesting to me how tiny he is.  I mean, we are basically the same size (I’m just under 5’7).  In the movies they make the guys look so much bigger! I read the books and thought they were pretty good, but I have to say the movies were absolutely terrible. At least to me.  And I sometimes like cheesy things!
Next up:
Bingo Night!

C and I went to a local casino and played bingo last Friday night. It was so much fun! It was really cheap too!  We paid $10 each and each played 7 or 8 rounds. If we would have won (sad face) our payout would have been $600.00!  That’s a lot!  You play even cheaper ($3 or $6), but it’s a smaller payout ($100 or $400). My only complaint was that it started at midnight and lasted until about2am.  After working all day Friday, this little grandma was ready for bed about 5 games in!
Books:

Last I mentioned books I said I was currently reading Bossy Pants by Tina Fey.  I liked it, but I didn’t love it. She is funny and I enjoyed reading it, but I had a hard time really getting into it and getting that feeling that I just wanted to read it all in one sitting.  It took me a little while.

Since then I have also read
  • Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me by Mindy Kaling – This was kind of the same as Bossypants. It was funny, but didn’t keep me dying to read more.
  • My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler – I don’t know why I read three memoirs in a row. I’m a weirdo.  This was meh.  I really liked her other books so I thought I might like this too. It was mildly funny and a quick read, but not really that exciting.
  • Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – Um yeah. I was way behind on starting this one.  I see what all of the hype is though, it was fantastic!!  I loved it.  This one definitely made me want to sit and read every second of the day!
Currently I am reading the Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. I saw some other bloggers were doing this book as a book club, so I thought I’d pick up the copy I’ve owned for over a year and read it.  I am only a few chapters in and kind of bored. This is yet again a memoir. Hmmm, I see a theme here. I hope it picks up soon!

Anyone have any new book suggestions for me?
TV Shows:

I mentioned a while ago I was going to try watching Breaking Bad and Mad Men.  I hated Breaking Bad. I barely made it through one episode. C liked it, but I definitely didn’t. Next we tried Mad Men.  We are almost through the first season.  I like this show, but I don’t absolutely love it.  I hope it gets better as the show goes on and we get to know the characters more.

We’ve also decided to try and watch all of the Walking Dead before the new season starts. I have seen an episode or two of this show, but not in order so I can’t really say if I like it or not. I guess we will find out soon!

I am really excited for several of the new fall shows coming out!  I think the other day I sat down and recorded probably 15-20 new shows on our DVR. Woah!  I am sure there will be several we don’t like (like the show Mom that aired last night – blech) but I am hopeful for several.  We watched the first episode of Hostages last night which was really good. I just don’t know how they are going to carry the show on for a whole season, let alone more than that!

Are there any new fall shows you are excited to see?
Well that’s it for now for me! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

Another New Beauty Box Review - Lip Factory September

So as you know I decided to cancel a few beauty boxes I was getting (Glossy box and Beauty Box 5) and I needed to feed my beauty box addiction so I was looking for new boxes.  I posted a few days ago about finding Starbox by Starlooks, which was a really awesome new box.

But….I found an even BETTER one!  I honestly think this one is better than Ipsy. Can you believe it?

This new box is called Lip Factory.

Lip Factory is a monthly beauty box that is $22 a month (S&H included) and comes with 5-7 products each time.  The box aims to give you a “full face” of makeup, but its main focus is on…lips of course!  I love getting lip products, so this one was right up my alley.

This month’s theme was “The Diva In You.”

So here we go….the September Lip Factory box!

  1. LA Fresh Makeup Remover and Hand Sanitizer wipes– 2 packets
I love these little packages. They are so convenient to carry with you.  I have gotten these in several boxes though, so they aren’t anything new.  I can’t complain though, I love getting them. I’ve tried the nail polish remover (not included) though and it was terrible. I wouldn’t suggest that one.
Full Size: $19.99 48 packets My Value: $0.83

  1. J Cat Beauty The Big Eye Pencil – .08 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Well this seems nice. I generally don’t use eye liner pencils (I am partial to gel eyeliners) but this says it “can be used as a blendable eye shadow or creamy eyeliner delivering amazing pigment.” I can’t wait to try different eye shadows over this!
Full Size: $3.49.  My Value: $3.49

  1. Absolute! Oil Control Tissues – 50 sheets (FULL SIZE)
Confession time: I don’t ever carry oil control tissues around.  I use something else….toilet seat covers! They are exactly the same thing and readily available.  Is that weird?? These are green tea scented though, which is nice. The packet is thin so it will be easy to carry in my purse.
Full Size: $2.99  My Value: $2.99
     4. Bombshell Eyeliner in Amythyst - .1 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Fun!  This eyeliner is almost like a marker.  It’s not quite a liquid and not quite a pen. I thought the purple color would be a little too crazy for me, but I tried it on my hand and its really dark. It almost seems black. I could definitely use this!
Full Size: $14.00 My Value: $14.00
      5. Bombshell Lip Gloss in Nude Beach - .11 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Yay! A lip gloss!  You all know my love for these.  I thought for sure it was going to be close to clear based on the name, but you know what? It’s awesome!  It’s the perfect peachy bronze color!
Full Size: $14.00 My Value: $14.00

6)   ModelCo Ultra Lip Gloss in Shine - .17 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Ah! I love this!  A while ago I talked about how cool it would be if a lipgloss had a mirror attached.  I got one right after that in a beauty box. The mirror was attached to the wand though, so it was impossible to use. But this one, it’s perfect!  The mirror is on the side on the lipgloss tube and the wand detaches.  The color of this lipgloss is amazing too.  It’s a nice shimmery pink that’s not too bright.
Full Size: $16.00 My Value: $16.00

SURPRISE BONUS:

7)   Nabi Eye Pencil Sharpener - (FULL SIZE)
Nice! This is to go with the jumbo eye pencil, so that’s exciting.  I think the sharpeners I currently have are too small for that.  I won’t complain about this addition.
Full Size: $0.50 My Value: $0.50

NEW CUSTOMER BONUS:

8)   essence Eyeshadow in Strawberry Ice Cream - .08 oz. (FULL SIZE)
So apparently for being a new customer they include a special bonus item and this is what I received. I love it. The color is so pretty!
Full Size: $2.95 My Value: $2.95

Final Cost: $22.00
Final Value: $54.76

I love this box!  I got so many awesome things…I’m pretty sure I will use them all!

What do you think?

If you’d like to sign up…..use my referral number? Pretty please?  It’s 385223.

(Also, I swear I’m not a review blog….I just like sharing these fun things! I have not been compensated for this review.)

I Love Football!

It’s Football Monday!

Instead of talking about C and the Arena Football League this week, I thought I’d talk about the NFL!

As you know I love Football.  The NFL was my first love, but obviously now that I’ve been introduced to Arena Football I love that just as much (if not more in some ways).  I have never been a big fan of college football, but I have started to watch more lately.  It’s just too hard for me to keep track of all of those teams!

I began my love for football by watching Troy Polamalu for the Steelers.  He is the one that is known for all the hair and is always in Head & Shoulders commercials. Ring any bells?  I started watching him and before I knew it I had adopted the whole Steelers team.  Living in Arizona though, it was tough to ever see Steelers games.  Eventually, I because a Cardinals fan.  Yes, I know they aren’t known for being very good, but I still love my hometown team!

I am the girl that plays fantasy football. Last year I was in a league with all men and I got second place.  How’s that for awesome?! I won $75 too, which I used for my ticket into Disneyland a few months later.  That’s what everyone does with their fantasy football winnings right?

I also play in a confidence pool which is a lot of fun. Basically you decided which of the two teams you think is going to win each game and then you order all of the games by how confident you are you have picked the correct winner.  It sounds confusing, but I promise it’s not.  It really makes you interested in the outcome of all of the games, which I like. So far this year I have gotten 13th and 6th place for the week (out of 50 players).  My time is coming, I can feel it!

C and I have a bucket list to go to every NFL stadium to see a game.  It was once just my goal, but since I met him he has adopted it and called it “our” bucket list. I love it!  I had seen a few other games (Pittsburgh and New Orleans) but I am willing to start over with him.  Plus, he actually PLAYED in a bunch of NFL games, so obviously he has been to a lot of stadiums. So far together we only have seen a game at 2 of the 31 stadiums (there are 32 teams but New York and New Jersey share a stadium) but we have plans to see a couple more very soon!

All that being said….it’s obviously I am a season ticket holder of the Arizona Cardinals right?!? My mom and I have had season tickets for 4 years now.  We have two seats right next to her best friend. It’s so much fun to go to games, although it really does make for a long day! It’s tough when the team isn’t very good, but it’s still a good time.

Last weekend was the first home game for the Cardinals. Since my brother was in town he got to go to the game with us!  C was also at the game because one of his fans (haha that still sounds weird) gave him a ticket. He was a few sections down from us though. We just met up for a quick kiss and a walk around the stadium at halftime.

I didn’t take a lot of pictures at the game (after being in the same seat for four years, the view is always the same) but I do have a few for you!
I just now noticed that we got photo bombed!

Do you love football?  Do you have season tickets to an NFL team near you??

Ipsy Bag Review - September

Ipsy bag time!  Yay!

I seriously love getting this bag. I saw a preview of what I was going to get on another blog, but I was still excited to get it, because sometimes they switch things up!

Anyways, as you know this box is $10 a month and it’s my absolute favorite!  I always love pretty much everything in the bag.

The theme of this month’s bag is Classic Beauty. The bag is not my favorite. I love the lacey look, but butterflies are not my favorite.

So here we go….September’s Ispy bag!

  1. Jesses Girl  Liquid Eyeliner in Black - .17 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Ok first of all, how cute is this name? Their facebook address is Facebook.com/IWantJessesGirl. Adorable!  I am not much of a fan of eyeliner pencils, but liquid eyeliner I can do!  I’m excited to try this. The packaging boasts a super fine brush to create think lines. Hopefully that’s true!
Full Size: $6.99  My Value: $6.99

  1. It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara - 4 ml
Meh, its mascara.  I am not one to really care about what mascara I use, I just put a layer on every day.  I guess if I had to choose though, volumizing would be good.  Lengthening would probably be even better though!  This is a nice sample size though and will be great for traveling.
Full Size: $19.99 10 ml My Value:$7.99

3)  J.Cat Beauty Fantabulous Lipstick in Honeycrisp - .1 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I have to say…nude lipstick is just not for me.  I don’t really like myself in it.  If I were going to do a nude lip though, this one is perfect!  It seriously matches my skin tone perfectly! I wish this lipstick were a different color, but I may hang on to it for future use. Oh also, this lipstick smells really good. I love lipsticks that have a scent, is that weird?
Full Size: $2.49 My Value: $2.49

4)   NYX Eyeshadow in Rock – .085 oz. (FULL SIZE)
I really love this color!  It’s quite dark but it’s still got a hint of glamor with the sparkle and sheen in it.  I will definitely be using this! The price is great and the other colors online are gorgeous also!
Full Size: $4.50 My Value: $4.50

5)  Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Big Apple– .14 oz. (FULL SIZE)
This is pretty awesome.  The color is really bright, which you wouldn’t normally expect from a “tinted” balm.  I think it’s a little bit bright for me, but I am going to try to break out of the norm for me with this product. The red color is a perfect shade for me, not too orangey.  The application is a bit weird and the container is bulky, but I have high hopes for this!
Full Size: $19.00 My Value: $19.00

Final Cost: $10.00
Final Value: $40.97

Ipsy did it again!  I love that I can start doing simple reviews on their site of the products I received so they can tailor my bags to me even more!  They did a great job with this one I must say.  Two lip products and an eye shadow…yay! Not to mention, the eye liner and mascara are very useful as well.

I highly suggest Ipsy, the products are great and the price is amazing!

If you’d like to give it a try…..use my referral link?  Pretty please?  :)

(Also, I swear I’m not a review blog….I just like sharing these things in hopes that other people will get to have the same fun that I do!  I am not compensated in any way.)

Yoga is Not For Me

I tried yoga. I hated it.

You guys, I tried.  I really did.

A friend and I purchased an awesomely discounted groupon for yoga classes a few weeks ago ($19 for 10 classes) because we’d both been wanting to try it. I even went out and bought a fancy yoga mat.  If you ever need one, may I suggest Ross?

It has been quite an interesting experience.

Since neither of us knew absolutely anything about yoga, we just picked a class that was at a good time for us and went for it.  Turns out we had signed up for nap time. Or in the correct terms, it was a “yin” or “relaxation” class.  Basically it was an hour and a half long stretch class that was very uncomfortable. We would do a stretch and then sit there for 5-10 minutes for each one.  Um?  Have you ever had to stretch over with your legs straight out in front of you for 10 minutes straight?  I wouldn’t suggest it. It was terrible.  If that wasn’t enough, the instructor played a very large gong the entire class.  Hello lady, how am I supposed to nap if you are banging on a gong?!?  Suffice it to say I left the class feeling like yoga was super weird.

The next class I went to wasn’t so terrible but I decided about an hour into it that it just wasn’t for me.  I don’t do well calming my mind (I seriously started thinking about the weirdest things during class – i.e. what my friend and her boyfriend should name their future children) and I have a tough time breathing in general.  Seriously.  If I put my arms over my head for long periods of time (which is really like 10 seconds or more) I can’t breathe.  Then at the end the instructor asked everyone if we were ok if she did a quick neck and shoulder massage on everyone. Say what? Ok, I guess I like this yoga stuff.

So I signed up for another class.  That one was hell!  I hated it. The instructor was very harsh, but in a nice way.  Yeah, that doesn’t make sense to me either.  But its how I felt.  She was a super yoga pro and would show us poses that no normal human being could actually do.  She’d obviously been doing this for a long time. Clearly she thought I wasn’t quite getting the hang of yoga because I got an extra special leg/thigh massage when I was in “child’s pose” at one point during the class.  I peeked….no one else got that massage!  She gave us all a tiny massage at the end as well by rubbing some stuff on our shoulders that smelled like a dirty lemon tree.

Needless to say….I never went back.

Anyone wanna buy a yoga mat?

Party Time!

So I’m a little late on this post….but it’s still Monday!

After the team got home from the Arena Bowl it was party time!

First up was a fan fest for all of the fans.  The team set aside a few hours on a Saturday afternoon and all the fans came out to meet them at the arena and congratulate them on their win.  There was an awesome season highlight video (C had some awesome plays in it!) and several of the guys got up and spoke. It was kind of interesting because they had the family sit on the ground floor next to the stage, instead of the stands.  Because of this, I only have one, not so great picture :( It was a terrible angle.

After all of the presentations, the fans got to go down on the main floor to meet the players and get autographs and photos with them.  The trophy was also there, so it was fun to take pictures with that too.  I put both last year’s picture (I’m in black) and this year’s picture (I’m in burnt orange) below so you could compare the two :)

Next, all of the guys got to go to the Phoenix Mercury game.  Yes, it’s WNBA, but hello, Brittney Griner plays for the team!  She actually lives in our apartment complex too which is cool. Have you seen this woman? She is 6’8!  The boys got to go down on the court during the game as they were announced as champions.  It was really cool to see the whole arena standing and cheering for them.

Next up was the best celebration of them all.  The really rich owner of the team rented out a private bar area at a local casino (I live in AZ so they are all over the place) and everything was paid for!

Earlier in the day C and I decided to go shopping and buy new outfits for the occasion. Dillards was having a fantastic sale (everything was 50% off and the 30% or 40% off of THAT amount!) so we got some great deals.  I love that C doesn’t mind shopping and actually likes to help me.  He even picked out the dress I wore and I am seriously in love with it. Also, believe it or not, at $30 the shoes were TWICE as expensive as my dress! He loves green (he played at Michigan State) so he was immediately drawn to it.  I had a lot of fun picking out shoes and accessories because it was different than what I would normally wear.  Studs are not usually my thing.

Anywho, once we were all ready, a fancy bus picked everyone up (all the players and their dates) and took us to the spot.  There was a huge, tasty, fancy buffet and drinks were free all night long! The trophy was there (of course) and there was an awesome ice sculpture commemorating the back to back championship win. There were fun Rattlers themed cupcakes and an awesome DJ too.

Near the end of the evening the guys decided it was time to “drink” from their trophy cup.  They poured probably 20 coronas into the thing and each guy proceeded to take a drink.  Us girls wanted in on it, so to keep lady like we grabbed some straws and got our drink on too.  The photo is really blurry because um, yeah, drinks were free that night!

We partied into the night and had a blast!

Arizona Rattlers, Back to Back Arena Bowl Champions!

I think that was the end of the big celebrations for a while, but hopefully in March when the season starts back up again I will have an awesome ring ceremony party to tell you about!

A New Beauty Box Review - Starbox August

So after I decided to cancel both Glossy box and Beauty Box 5, in order to feed my addiction I went on a quest to find something new.  I couldn’t only be getting one beauty box a month. Duh!

That’s how I found Starbox by Starlooks.

Starbox is a monthly beauty box that is $15 a month (plus a few dollars S&H) and comes with 3-4 FULL SIZED products each time.  No more tiny lotion samples!
The website says the makeup line is comparable to MAC, Chanel, Sephora and other department store lines.  It also says that the value of each monthly box ranges from $35.00 to $99.00.

So immediately I signed up :)

Of course this was in the middle of July and past their shipping date so I had to wait until almost the end of August to get my first box.

I am quite happy with it though. The package is really adorable so I was excited to dive in!
This Starbox is a signature box created for a certain beauty blogger, Natalie Corona.  I don’t know her, but I think she likes mermaids based on what I got!

So here we go….the August Starbox!

  1. Starlooks Glitter in Emerald– .07 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Hmmm well this is interesting.  I’m not a huge glitter person, but I really like the color.  When I first opened the box, I thought I had absolutely no use for this.  Then I read the card included. This glitter can be added to a loose powder, any eye shadow or even nail polish. You can even get it wet and use it as an eye liner. Well then, I guess that makes it pretty cool.  I’ll have to try it out!
            Full Size: $15.00 .07 oz.  My Value:$15.00
  1. Starlooks Infinity Lipstick in Eons – .08 oz. (FULL SIZE)
Yay!  Lipstick!  You know how I love a good lipstick. When I first looked at it I thought the color was too shimmery for me, but turns out its pretty awesome!  It gives my lips just enough color and shimmer that it looks pretty but like I didn’t even try.  It is a really great texture too. The info card says it lasts up to 12 hours….but I didn’t find that to be true. I had to reapply almost every 30 minutes.  I am one to rub my lips together a lot though, I am sure that has something to do with it.
Full Size: $15.00 .08 oz.  My Value:$15.00
  1. Starlooks Infinity Lipstick in Endless – .08 oz. (FULL SIZE)
More lipstick! Yes!  I like the color of this one even more.  I wore it all night at the Championship celebration party.  It is a bit pinker than I am used to, but I love it.  Trying something new definitely paid off this time. Obviously since it is the same formula as above, this lipstick dried out my lips and lasted only 2 hours. Oh well, I’ll just have to reapply more!
Full Size: $15.00 .08 oz.  My Value:$15.00

    4.  Mermaid Prism??
For novelty they included this random “mermaid prism.”  The card included says “Surprise! We’ve also included a gorgeous prism. Bring energy and beauty into your home by hanging it in front of your window. Its reflective patterns and colors have the same effect as a mermaid’s tail.”  Yeah, since we’ve all seen a mermaid!  Oh well, it’s a cute idea. C said he already has a mermaid (?) so we don’t need to hang this one haha.
Full Size: $2.00 My Value: $2.00

Final Cost: $17.58
Final Value: $47.00

The card included says the retail price of this box is $47.00, so I guess that means the prism is worth $2.00. Lucky me.

Overall I really loved this box.  Yes there were only 3 products, but I absolutely love both lipsticks and it is awesome that they are full size!  I will definitely be getting this one again.

What do you think?

(Also, I swear I’m not a review blog….I just like sharing these fun things! I have not been compensated for this review.)

My First Snail Mail Collective - Reveal

I have seen several posts about the snail mail collective over the past few months and I thought that it would be really fun to take part in it this month.

The snail mail collective is where you are paired with another blogger in another country!  You have time to get to know them and then get to send them a little gift ($5 or so) as well as a little note….snail mail style!

For my first time, I was paired with Caley over at Ellie Love.  You guys, she is from South Africa!  How cool is that!  It’s obviously totally different than Arizona, which is really cool. Caley is super pretty and has the cutest little family. I was so happy to be paired with her.

Due to an email glitch we weren’t really able to spend a lot of time getting to know each other which really bums me out, but I hope we will stay friends so that can happen in the future. I am sure we will :)

This month’s theme was “Under the Sea” which, let me tell you, is difficult when you live in Arizona.  There is no “sea” to be found here….or really many bodies of water at all!  I decided to send her a few things that represented Arizona and a few things that were fishy and nautical themed.  If you want to see what I sent her, you can check out her blog!

When her package arrived I was so excited! I’m not sure I’ve ever received ANY mail from another country, so this was great.  Even the stamps were cool.

The package inside the mailer was nicely wrapped and there was an awesome photo of a lighthouse on the post card. Turns out she lives just a couple of minutes away from there. Can you say jealous?  Just beautiful.  Now I definitely want to visit South Africa someday!

Inside the package I found….a Chocolate Bar made in South Africa, a magnet that says South Africa….and a bikini! Um, how amazing is that?!? Caley has a friend that just started a bikini line there and she was able to snag one just for me!  It has a super fun bright print on it and I can’t wait to wear it!

So as you can see, I was definitely spoiled! I am so glad I got the “meet” Caley.

As much fun as I had with this, I am not sure how often I will participate.  Sending a package that far was quite pricey.  Hopefully I will be able to take part every few months though!

The Big Game - Arena Bowl 2013

Well it looks like Mondays are quickly becoming football days!  Let’s see if I can keep that going for a while. I certainly have a few more “football” topics to talk about!
This time I am finally going to talk about THE Arena Bowl!! It’s another long one….beware!
So the morning of the game I crawled out of bed super early (ok like 8am) to meet C in the hallway to give him a good luck hug and kiss.  I knew I’d see him in a bit at the fan rally to send them off, but I rather not do all that in front of a bunch of people.  So the hotel hallway it was.
After us girls got up and got moving we headed downstairs for the “official” send off.  It was a lot of fun.  Even though the guys had to be on the bus at a certain time it took about 20 minutes for them all to trickle down the hallway we were at.  All of the Rattlers fans formed a line on each side of the door and we got to high five the guys and wish them good luck as the got on the bus. It was silly, but still a lot of fun to do. I think it put a lot of smiles on their faces to know we were all there to cheer them on.
After the sendoff we headed to breakfast and to get ready for the game.  Oh man were my nerves going by this point!  I was so glad that the game had a 1pm start time.  If I had to spend all day waiting I would have been a wreck!
The previous day we had all gotten our tickets and our seats were seriously all over the arena.  Out of the 23 tickets we had requested between the 3 of us girlfriends only 10 of them were together. The rest were spread out all over the arena.  It took us awhile, but we worked it out and gave all of the other tickets to the boys friends and used the 10 for us to sit together. Phew.
When we got into the arena we were in for a rude awakening.  The tickets we had were in the top section of the arena in the corner.  These were family tickets. It was terrible.  To make matters worse, all of the other teams (the Philadelphia Soul) families had seats on the lower level right next to their bench!  That is proof right there that the league really hates the Rattlers. There were empty seats galore in the bottom sections, but they chose to give the Rattlers all tickets in the upper levels.

When we got to our seats at the top, my mom started having a panic attack.  She is afraid of heights and couldn’t handle sitting up there, especially not for the whole game. So we decided to go back to the box office and pay for our own.  On the way though we stopped at guest services and asked if they could do anything.  They traded us for tickets in the lower level handicap section (cushy chairs included) on the 25 yard line, which is like the 50 yard line in the NFL. Right in the center! We ever had our own bathroom.  Is it wrong for me to thank my mom for having a panic attack?? I was sad to leave the girls, but they did the same thing and got similar seats on the other side of the arena.
The game took forever to start….in my mind. The girl who sang the national anthem sang it at a snail’s pace.  I was getting so frustrated.  Then they started introducing the Philly team.  They said his name and he never ran out, forcing the announcers to switch to announcing the Rattlers.  How rude is that?  The Rattlers should have been announced last since they were the “home team” from having the best record in the league.  The Soul players were willing to make the league and staff look bad, just so they could be announced last.
After the fanfare of the KISS celebrity coin toss, which C is always involved in as a captain, the game finally started.

Oh man was it stressful!  The game was back and forth the entire time.  We would score, then they would score.  We would do something stupid, then they would do something stupid.  I never had a good feeling about the game until there was about 8 seconds left on the clock!  For a while at the end there it seemed like the Soul was going to win.

I spent the last minute of the game pacing the walkway with my arms on my head.  I have no idea why I do the arm thing, but it seems to be a go to move of mine when I am stressed out at C’s game. The Soul had the ball and they were about to score with under a minute to go…..and they dropped it!  We were able to score leaving a 9 point gap.  With only a few seconds left they had no chance!
Cue tears.
The clock ran out and the Rattlers were champions once again!

Getting on to the field after the game was an ordeal, but we made it.  Thankfully one of the girls that works for the team knows me well and went and got mom and I bracelets so the security would let us down.  C went looking for me and ran into the girls so he just lifted them over the wall and they ran off before getting caught.  Too bad I wasn’t there too!

It was awesome to get some pictures with C right after the game, even though he is always so nasty sweaty after playing. We got a few with the trophy as well.  I tried to take some that were set up the same as some I took last year, just to be able to compare.

After the celebration on the field we headed over to a bar near the arena called the Harry Buffalo, sounds appetizing right?  It was here we proceeded to party all night long!

On the way home from Orlando we got to switch our flight to a non-stop and they upgraded us all to the exit row. Woo hoo!  We made it to the airport 30 minuted before the boys so we were able to make it to the gate before they arrived and cheer for them with a big crowd.

Oh man, the Arena Bowl was so much fun!  I am so glad we got the chance to go again (thanks to the Arizona Rattlers for kicking butt this season) and that C got yet another Championship ring!
